Lutheran High School South has Joined the Mosaic Ambassador Schools

The St. Louis Mosaic Project Adds its 19th Mosaic Ambassador School
Lutheran High School South has joined the Mosaic Ambassador schools in the efforts of making St. Louis a friendlier city to foreign-born families. The St. Louis Mosaic Project Ambassador School program encourages member schools to reinforce an internationally welcoming and inclusive culture through pledges unique to each school.

As Lutheran High School South joins the Mosaic Ambassador School program, the school is planning to make more efforts to include international students as a part of their school community. The Lutheran High School Association International Program has welcomed students from 20 different countries since the beginning of the program. Lutheran High School international program director helps students thrive in academics as well as in their social lives. The international outreach missions will continue to be active, and the new American students will receive application and scholarship assistance through community partners.

Lutheran High School South offers a range of foreign languages as well as other globally-minded classes that reflect the benefit of different cultures. It also provides student mentors for new international students to help them adjust to a new setting. Lutheran High School South has been doing an outstanding job of being inclusive in the St. Louis community. Students from Lutheran High School South established an initiative to provide swim lessons for new Americans and refugee children here in St. Louis.
To promote diversity and inclusion, Lutheran High School South has committed to initiate service work with the local immigrant communities, and get involved in local chambers of commerce serving the foreign-born population. Lutheran High School South will ensure their online presence is inclusive for foreign-born people, school materials are accessible for English language learners. Additionally, Lutheran High School South will share Mosaic Project news or initiatives domestically and internationally in recruiting efforts.
About the St. Louis Mosaic Project
The St. Louis Mosaic Project was launched in 2012 in response to an economic impact report that showed St. Louis was lagging in immigrant growth and highlighted the potential economic benefits of increasing its foreign-born population. The Mosaic Project is a regional initiative that is professionally managed by St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, World Trade Center and a 27-member committee.
